Abstract
A method of fatigue-life distribution function (FLDF) estimation respecting the stochastic nature of the load process and material properties is presented in Parts I and II. Part III is devoted to application of this method for evaluation of, the so-called, substandard loading events at service from the point of view of fatigue reliability. A methodology is proposed, enabling to assess the influence of loading non-stationarity occurrence (short-term change of random load process characteristics, such as mean value, variance, probability density, power spectral density) ... on the change of the structure fatigue life. The influence of non-stationarity occurrence in loading process is reflected by the change of FLDF course and is expressed by means of fatigue failure probability occurrence for the required operating life, or, by means of change of guaranteed life for allowable probability of fatigue fracture. Assessment of different types of the loading non-stationarities, frequency of their occurrence, changes of their parameters, as well as cases of their combination are presented. Demonstrative examples of modelling of non-stationarity occurrence in the loading process for concrete service situations are showed.
