Measurement of carbon diffusion coefficients in Fe-C-Cr steels by chromatographic method (in Czech)

Abstract
In the present paper it is shown that the diffusion coefficients of carbon in chromium steels at high temperatures can be measured by the use of a chromatograph coupled onto a thermobalance. This method is suitable especially in the case of steels containing higher content of carbon. The values of D's measured in low carbon Fe-C-Cr steels have rather qualitative character. However, all the values of D measured in the present work agree well with the diffusion coefficients D(βCi) calculated on the basis of a model of Wagner's type.
